Description:
Bromhexine and its main metabolite, ambroxol, (trans-4-[(2-amino-3.5-dibromobenzil) amino] cyclohexanol hydrochloride) have been widely used therapeutically in the treatment of lung diseases because of their mucolytic properties, as well as their ability to stimulate the release of surfactants substances, standardize the production of mucus and facilitate expectoration.
Indications:
Bromhexine can be administered in combination with antimicrobial agents in the treatment of respiratory infections as it causes disruption on the mucopolysaccharides of bronchial secretion, thus improving bronchial penetration of antimicrobial drugs.
Side effects:
No obvious side effects observed
Dosage:
For oral administration. The appropriate final dosage should be based on the daily water consumption.
Poultry:
1 litre per 4000-5000 litres of drinking water (0.5mg/kg/day body weight) for 5 days.
Withdrawal times:
– For meat:
Poultry : 24-48 hours
